Turn innocent looking kale leaves into delicious chips! |
You may have watched my video on how to make
Swiss Chard chips. Well today we'll be using
kale from my garden to make chips out of. The recipe is exactly the same as the
Swiss Chard chips, but the bitterness of kale makes the chips slightly more flavorful.

Let's make chips |
Kale Chips
4 Kale Leaves
Salt
Olive Oil
1) Obtain kale. Preheat oven to 275°F.
|
You'll need about 4 leaves to cover 1 baking pan |
2) Wash kale. Cut off the stems on each leaf (Put stems aside for later use). Remove the center rib. Cut leaves into 1 to 2 inch pieces.
|
After cutting off the stems |
3) Take a greased baking sheet and spread the leaves across. Drizzle the olive oil across the top. Use a brush to spread the oil evenly over each leaf. Sprinkle some salt over the pan.
|
Lay them out in a single layer |
|
I ended up getting 2 baking sheets for this batch |
4) Place the pan in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Drain oil once cooked.
|
They look rugged, but they taste great! |
5) Enjoy!
